Surely the presence......
....of the lord is in this choir. Without a doubt the retreat to Asbury Hills was divinely orchestrated. Trinity's choir is about so much more than singing.
Love, faith, open hearts and willingness to commit to song seem to be just a few of the qualities that describe what it's like to be part of this tremendous
group.
And as Justin stated, you don't even have to know how to sing!!

Come and Serve!
Our Nursery is full of exciting energy on Sunday mornings! There are so many children that we need more workers for the Nursery. This is a wonderful problem to have and everyone can help out! We would like to expand and divide the children by ages into two different classrooms during the hour of the worship service. This plan requires four workers every Sunday. Prayerfully consider volunteers to staff the nursery on Sunday mornings. This is a vital ministry that helps to welcome new families into the church. Come and serve the youngest members within the body of Christ! Please see Mel Peirce to volunteer.
Youth Box
All UMYF,
Thank you so much for coming out Sunday evening for our first gathering since school reconvened. I had an amazing time, and I pray you all had as much fun as I did being together and discussing some plans for the future. The success of this first evening, I hope, will entice more youth to come out and become involved in UMYF here at Trinity. We had a good size group, but I think we can do better next time. So bring your friends, and the friends of your friends. As we discussed Sunday, we will not meet because of various Labor Day travel plans. I pray for traveling mercies for all those on the road and safety for all others. See you soon, and be blessed...
Best,
Chuck Conner

Children’s Activities in the gym on Wednesday nights will start up again soon! From 6:15 – 7:15pm, two workers will organize games and activities for children in the gym. This is a fun activity after dinner in the fellowship hall and gives parents an opportunity to attend classes like our upcoming Wesley Wednesday study.
Fun, Fellowship and Faith
will focus on John Wesley and our Methodist heritage each Wednesday night from September to May with…
Wesley Wednesdays

Our Wesley Wednesdays kick off on September 10th. Cathy Bryant and Heather Humphries have planned for a variety of speakers to introduce and teach about John Wesley throughout the coming year. There is so much to learn! We’ll start with some basic history about John Wesley, about his family and the grassroots beginning of his “Holy Club” that would eventually become known as the United Methodist Church.
In the midst of learning more about John and Charles Wesley and the early start of the Methodist Church, we will be celebrating some of Trinity’s history as well. We will mark the anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of Trinity’s sanctuary on September 17th. This will be a very special program designed by our historians, Joe Ann Lever and Doris Wright, with some distinct guest speakers.
You will want to plan on attending Wesley Wednesdays throughout this coming year. Let us renew our faith by learning and remembering how we have come together, this day, as Trinity United Methodist Church. May we be formed by the example of those who have gone before us, those who have paved the way for living as faithful Methodists today.
Our UMW is collecting used regular postage stamps for money for mission projects. Please cut off the stamps from letters you receive and save them. They will later be collected in the Welcome Center. Thank You!

Epworth By the Sea
You are invited for a time of retreat and renewal. “Warmth in Winter” is an event for older adults that will be held January 12-14, 2009. This year the theme is Pilgrim and Prodigals, a Journey of the Heart presented by Ed Kilbourne, a singer, humorist and Gospel storyteller. This popular artist is known for his collections of moving music, clever humor and insightful monologues. He combines acoustic guitar, keyboards and singing with a story-telling style that has been compared to that of Garrison Keillor (the radio humorist from ‘Lake Wobegon’) and Jimmy Buffett. Both he and his wife, Kathleen, are United Methodist ministers. For more information about this program and a registration form, please contact Heather Humphries.
Justin Addington
has made a CD of Christmas organ music using the
Trinity pipe organ. The CD’s will be available for purchase in
mid-November. All proceeds will go to the Music Ministry. Please keep this
in mind as you prepare for your holiday shopping.
TOTAL Ministries is in desperate need of food and monetary donations. Many people who normally give are unable to this summer, and there are many more people needing their assistance. If you are able, please buy extra food when you shop and drop it off in our donation baskets at the church, or drop a check in the mail to:
